Hi, I'm Jim Voorhies, a technologist, user experience manager, and blogger.

Two decades as a creative director, designer, and interaction designer for in-house work. Started in print work (1- and 2-color) and moved to 4-color in the early 90s. I've won over a dozen awards in technical communication & design. Moved into multimedia and web design when each became prominent and began to learn first hand what did and didn't work with users and the interfaces I designed. I've been a manager of people for most of my career. Over the last several years our focus has changed to making the web applications we design more usable and easier to use. We're designing heavily for iPhone, iPad and Android platforms. Our development is Agile focused on Mobile first.
